In business since 1991, our locally owned and operated company is BBB certified. We've done museum-quality work for UVA's Alderman Library, UVA's Madison Hall, Charlottesville Courthouse, Monticello, Montpelier, Violet Crown Cinema as well many beautiful homes and offices in Charlottesville and surrounding area.

Cathy was trained at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, CA and work as the first pattern maker for a dress manufacture. Upon moving to Charlottesville, she started the business: Cathy Mares Design; out of her home. The Business has grown to a showroom and workroom. Our window treatment store on Allied Street is open to serve your complete Home Fashion needs.
